Depending on the weather and temperature, very different destinations in Eastern Europe are recommended. Personally, I think the <strong>Baltic Sea is<\/strong> wonderful <strong>for swimming<\/strong>. It is somewhat cooler than the other seas in southern Europe. <strong>Poland<\/strong>, <strong>Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia<\/strong> all have <strong>beautiful beaches<\/strong>. A special highlight there are the Midsommar festivals, which take place around June 22 to 25.<\/p>\n\n<p>And also the <strong>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/en\/baltic-sea-germany\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"10900\">German Baltic Sea in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania<\/a>\n<\/strong> with the islands of <strong>R\u00fcgen<\/strong> and <strong>Poel<\/strong> are definitely an invitation to swim and relax.  <\/p>\n\n<div id=\"120139-1\"><script src=\"\/\/ads.themoneytizer.com\/s\/gen.js?type=1\"><\/script><script src=\"\/\/ads.themoneytizer.com\/s\/requestform.js?siteId=120139&#038;formatId=1\"><\/script><\/div>\n\n<p>Incidentally, a <strong>trip to the <a href=\"https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/en\/aukstaitija-national-park\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"2111\">Aukstatija National Park<\/a> with its many lakes<\/strong> and very clear water is particularly worthwhile in Lithuania. The situation is similar in Latvia and Estonia.  <\/p>\n\n<p>A visit to the <strong>Black Sea<\/strong> is also worthwhile. I would love to recommend the <strong>Black Sea coast in Ukraine<\/strong>, but due to the Russian war of aggression this is of course not possible or only with difficulty. But the Black Sea is beautiful everywhere. The <a href=\"https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/en\/romania-black-sea-coast\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"29765\"><strong>beaches on the Black Sea in Romania<\/strong><\/a> are also great. Or you can discover the somewhat wilder beaches in the <strong>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/en\/dobruja-bulgaria\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"5254\">Dobruja<\/a>\n<\/strong>in the north of Bulgaria.  <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>It is naturally very hot in the Balkans in high summer<\/strong>, which is why it is best to stay near the coast. The <strong>Croatian coast<\/strong> with its many islands and <strong>Montenegro<\/strong> are certainly overcrowded, but in our opinion they are still worthwhile. <strong>Albania<\/strong>, on the other hand, was long considered an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mdr.de\/nachrichten\/welt\/osteuropa\/land-leute\/albanien-reisen-urlaub-berge-wandern-strand-100.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">insider tip<\/a>, but even there the last hidden bays are now being developed. So you can use spring in Eastern Europe to discover the <strong>most beautiful cities in Eastern Europe<\/strong>. For this I can recommend: <strong>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/en\/krakow-architecture\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"19102\">Krakow<\/a>\n<\/strong> and<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/en\/things-to-do-in-gdansk\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"17344\">Gdansk<\/a><\/strong> in Poland, <strong>Prague<\/strong> or the beautiful <strong>Cesky Krumlov<\/strong> in the Czech Republic, <strong>Vilnius<\/strong> in Lithuania, <strong>Riga<\/strong> in Latvia, <strong>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/en\/things-to-do-in-tallinn\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"20873\">Tallinn<\/a>\n<\/strong> in Estonia and <strong>Budapest<\/strong> in Hungary.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Again, it is a pity that Ukraine is currently not safe to travel to, because <strong>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/en\/kyiv-sights\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"10468\">Kyiv<\/a>\n<\/strong> simply has so many facets. In the Ukraine, however, you should also go to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/en\/things-to-do-in-lviv-ukraine\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"17728\">Lviv<\/a> <\/strong>and<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/en\/things-to-do-in-odesa\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"17817\">Odesa<\/a><\/strong>!<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Romania<\/strong> now offers <strong>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/en\/maramures-romania\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"9212\">Maramures<\/a>\n<\/strong> is now available. In <strong>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/reiselaender\/kroatien\/\" data-type=\"reiselaender\" data-id=\"233\">Croatia<\/a>\n<\/strong> the <strong>Plitvice Lakes National Park<\/strong> or the medieval city of <strong>Dubrovnik<\/strong>, which is unfortunately completely overcrowded in summer, are well worth a visit. <strong>Sarajevo<\/strong> or <strong>Mostar<\/strong> in <strong>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/reiselaender\/bosnien-herzegowina\/\" data-type=\"reiselaender\" data-id=\"227\">Bosnia<\/a>\n<\/strong>, <strong>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/en\/ljubljana-sights-slovenia\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"31566\">Ljubljana<\/a>\n<\/strong> or <strong>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/en\/belgrade-sights\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"30474\">Belgrade<\/a>\n<\/strong> are well worth a visit.  <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/maramures-1024x682.jpeg\" alt=\"Maramures Sightseeing Eastern Europe Romania\" class=\"wp-image-32726\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/maramures-1024x682.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/maramures-300x200.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/maramures-768x512.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/maramures-1536x1023.jpeg 1536w, https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/maramures.jpeg 1600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Maramures is one of the lesser-known corners of Romania, but is well worth a visit for the region&#8217;s unique architecture.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eastern Europe destinations in fall<\/h2>\n\n<p>I think fall is particularly great for the <strong>nature parks and forests<\/strong>. When the leaves change color, the national parks look even better. Particularly great: the <strong>Bialowieza National Park<\/strong> in eastern Poland, where you can see real bison. It is considered the last true primeval forest in Europe.  <\/p>\n\n<p>There are also beautiful national parks in Lithuania and Latvia. The <strong>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/en\/slovak-paradise-national-park\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"8889\">Slovak Paradise National Park<\/a>\n<\/strong> is particularly picturesque at this time of year, as is <strong>Bohemian Switzerland<\/strong> and <strong>Saxon Switzerland<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<div id=\"120139-1\"><script src=\"\/\/ads.themoneytizer.com\/s\/gen.js?type=1\"><\/script><script src=\"\/\/ads.themoneytizer.com\/s\/requestform.js?siteId=120139&#038;formatId=1\"><\/script><\/div>\n\n<p>I also think autumn is the perfect time for Transylvania, to walk in the light mist in the footsteps of <strong>Dracula in Transylvania<\/strong> and discover the culture of the <strong>Transylvanian Saxons<\/strong>. The <strong>Carpathian Mountains<\/strong> are also a wonderful place to hike or take a <strong>trip over the Transfagarasan<\/strong> and there are all sorts of <a href=\"https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/en\/maramures-romania\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"9212\">curious sights<\/a> to discover in <strong>Maramures<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/ukraine-drahobrat-1024x682.jpeg\" alt=\"Eastern Europe Ski resort Drahobrat Ukraine\" class=\"wp-image-32728\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/ukraine-drahobrat-1024x682.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/ukraine-drahobrat-300x200.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/ukraine-drahobrat-768x512.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/ukraine-drahobrat-1536x1023.jpeg 1536w, https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/ukraine-drahobrat.jpeg 1600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">There are also worthwhile ski resorts in Ukraine, such as the beautiful Drahobrat in the Carpathians.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eastern Europe destinations in winter<\/h2>\n\n<p>In winter, of course, it&#8217;s mainly for skiing or other winter activities. The <strong>Krkono\u0161e Mountains in the Czech Republic<\/strong> in particular offer <strong>a cheap alternative to the Alpine countries<\/strong> for skiing. It&#8217;s also not far away. Ski passes are much cheaper there than in Austria or Switzerland. You can also ski in the <strong>High Tatras<\/strong> or in the Caucasus in Georgia. After the war, Ukraine will probably also become an insider tip for skiing, as there are great slopes in the Carpathian Mountains, which almost always have snow in winter.<\/p>\n\n<p>If you prefer to warm up, you can escape to one of the <strong>thermal baths in Budapest<\/strong> or in <strong>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/en\/lithuania-sights\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"31945\">Lithuania<\/a>\n<\/strong> or <strong>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/en\/things-to-do-in-estonia\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"18483\">Estonia<\/a>\n<\/strong> go to a sauna.  <\/p>\n\n<p>There are beautiful Christmas markets in <strong>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/en\/things-to-do-in-tallinn\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"20873\">Tallinn<\/a>\n<\/strong>, in <strong>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/en\/dresden-sights\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"11064\">Dresden<\/a>\n<\/strong> of course, but also in <strong>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/en\/wroclaw-sightseeing-wroclaw\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"4840\">Wroclaw<\/a>\n<\/strong>. The <strong>gingerbread in <a href=\"https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/en\/torun-poland\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"21450\">Torun<\/a><\/strong> in Poland is also delicious!<\/p>\n\n<div id=\"120139-1\"><script src=\"\/\/ads.themoneytizer.com\/s\/gen.js?type=1\"><\/script><script src=\"\/\/ads.themoneytizer.com\/s\/requestform.js?siteId=120139&#038;formatId=1\"><\/script><\/div>\n\n<p>If you can&#8217;t get enough of Christmas, you can travel to an Orthodox country. <strong>Orthodox Christmas<\/strong> is celebrated there at the beginning of January, as Orthodox Christians follow the Julian calendar and therefore only celebrate the birth of Christ on January 7. In the <strong>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/wildeast.blog\/en\/ukraine-sights\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"10281\">Ukraine<\/a>\n<\/strong> for example, Christmas has just been moved to December.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">There is something to discover in Eastern Europe in every season<\/h2>\n\n<p>So there is something to discover in every region we write about at Wild East.
