Peter Althaus is co-founder of Wild East and a true Eastern Europe expert. He has traveled to all countries in the region and is an expert on the countries behind the former Iron Curtain. He is a journalist and has worked for dpa and several major regional newspapers. In 2011 he founded the travel blog Rooksack, which in the following years was one of the leading blogs for backpacking and individual discoveries. Since 2016, he has been living in Lviv, Ukraine, where he runs the travel company Lviv Buddy, guiding guests around the city and organizing trips across Ukraine. Since the Corona pandemic brought tourism to Ukraine to a standstill for the time being, he founded Wild East with Markus Bingel and has since been writing about his other favorite countries as well.
