Markus Bingel comes from the tranquil town of Freiburg in southern Germany. He studied and worked in Olsztyn and Lublin in Poland, learned Ukrainian in Lviv, and spent a long time in St. Petersburg for work. As a travel writer, he is drawn to the countries of the “Wild East” several times a year, especially to Poland, Ukraine, Russia, the Czech Republic and Croatia – and he is still fascinated by this region every time.
